Step 1: Energy Consultation

The first step when making the switch to solar in Park City is to get a home energy consultation. On Top Solar and Electric offers free energy consultations. A home energy consultation will allow our Park City solar specialists to get accurate information about your homes current electrical usage, potential areas for energy efficiency improvement, and solar array design optimization.

Step 2: Solar Bid

After our Park City solar specialist completes your energy consultation, they will prepare a bid with the information that they gathered. We look at making Park City homes more efficient. Your bid will include any possible lighting upgrades or thermostat upgrades that save you money on the total cost of your solar array. Your Park City solar bid will provide you with the total size of your array, payback time, total saving over 25 years, solar panel model, solar panel power generation, and any other information that is specific to your home such as panel location.

Step 3: Permitting

After you get your solar bid and are ready to make the switch to solar in Park City, permits will need to be submitted with the city and with Rocky Mountain Power. We handle all necessary permitting so that you don’t have to worry about it.

Step 4: Scheduling and Installation

Once all permitting is approved, you will be put on our installation schedule as well as on Rocky Mountain Power’s activation schedule. Any necessary paper work or communication with HOA’s will be submitted to ensure that your panels are ready to be installed on the day we scheduled you. We will give you a call before the installation begins to make sure that you know that we will be on top of your roof working.

Step 5: Activation

After our Master Electricians finish installing, wiring, and programming the panels and inverters, Rocky Mountain Power will come and make sure the system is ready to be activated and connected to the grid. Once Rocky Mountain Power gives final approval, your system will be activated and you’ll be producing power from the Sun!

Step 6: Congratulations, You’ve Gone Green.

After your installation is complete, you can go about your everyday life as you always have but you are now saving money and the environment!
